Extreme View Cafe Road

Ever fancy just getting out of the house for a ride?
Well, today was one of those days for me. My chosen destination – anywhere!
After a fuel up and tyre pressure check, I headed onto the highway for a couple of junctions. Unfortunately, the coast road near Aphrodite’s Rock is being repaired so this was the only way to ride up the coast.
A few minutes later, back on the coast road, I spotted the turn leading up to Extreme View Cafe and my destination was chosen!

The road up to Extreme View Cafe is popular with bikers as it has the most amazing sweeping bends, with a handful of fast straights and enough tight corners to keep you on your toes. Following the path of the river bed (which is dried up for most of the year) the road also offers stunning scenery through the valley with the mountains on either side.
As it’s still technically winter in Cyprus we have had rain recently, and the mountains and valley fields are full of greenery interspersed with wildflowers. Beautiful.
However, as I haven’t been out on the bike for a while I decide to enjoy a nice fast ride up the valley. Not one car to be seen I opened the throttle and with a smile on my face set out to enjoy those sweeping bends!
A little while later at the top of the valley, I pulled into Extreme View Cafe car park. As its still lockdown in Cyprus, they are closed, so I took a photo and with my need for speed sated for the time being, I decided to make my way back down the valley a little slower in order to enjoy the scenery.
Back at the coast road, I headed for the sea. Mandria Beach Bar is another favourite destination for bikers but today, as it is closed, after the obligatory bike on a beach photos (will I ever get sick of those?) it was time to head home.
At home, my two little dogs were waiting for me. They know the sound of a Fireblade and were watching out of the window as I pull up.
Ride over, its time to head to the beach again, this time with the dogs.
